The Triple Combo ~ 3 Keys to Creating the Life You Want

“Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears.”  ~Richard Wilkins Creating the life you want is a balance of stepping into life and creating room for life to come to you. And it is a decision to let go who you think you “should” be in order to become who you truly are. Here are 3 Keys to Creating the Life You Want. I call them The Triple Combo!  1. Do Your Inner Work Life is not a process of discovery, but rather creation.  When we realize that life is not happening to us, but rather is an expression of us, we begin to take greater responsibility for our lot in life and the […]

Every Moment is a Playful Moment

Every Moment is a Playful Moment

It’s less about finding time to play, and more about allowing yourself to be playful in this very moment. This beautiful being’s name is Sophia. Like many dogs she loves to carry long sticks, and right next to you, excitedly and repeatedly bumping her prized possession into you! While four of us walked with her through forest trails on the Sunshine Coast I had a playful idea! What if we had to avoid her bumping us with her stick, kind of like avoiding being it in tag? Suddenly, the four of us were like screaming small children, delightfully jumping around, and of course, Sophia got excited, coming closer to us, making us leap and laugh even more. A friendly reminder that every moment is a playful moment! 🙂 Breaking […]

Playful Revolution

Be Playful and you’ll Rock the Boat, Rattle the Senses, and Wake People from the Status Quo. When we play we give Joy to the world. And because most of us are used to feeling more stress than joy, it can be a bit unsettling when confronted with a playful spirit. A participant recently told me how her co-worker said to follow her outside. She went into her car, turned on some music (loudly!) and began dancing. The participant hesitated for a moment, but soon happily danced away as passer-by’s watched and scratched their heads. As the video demonstrates, we are all wanting to let our hair down and raise our spirit’s up! We are all wanting to be free! And yet we need playful […]

Fool’s Wisdom

“The moment you start seeing life as non-serious, a playfulness, all the burden on your heart disappears. All the fear of death, of life, of love – everything disappears. One starts living with a very light weight or almost no weight. So weightless one becomes, one can fly in the open sky.” ~ Osho. Yesterday may have been April Fools’ Day, but every day is an opportunity to heed the wisdom of your inner Fool. Your inner Fool has much to share. Are you listening? The Fool is the archetypal energy of the inner child. Through innocence and trust, it follows its heart, steps into the unfamiliar and plays outside the lines. It has no interest in being bound by social convention and expectations. It wants […]

Play Begins with Permission ~ Freeing Your Self through Simple Play

Play Begins with Permission ~ Freeing Your Self through Simple Play

Play is not dependent on anything except our willingness. The very first play principle I teach in my playshops is Permission. Permission is recognizing we have the play instinct within, and allowing it to be expressed in every moment. When we allow ourselves to let go and be care-free just a little, play emerges naturally, and we surprise ourselves in how playful we actually are. Adults asks “How?” Children just play. When we assume we are not playful, we tend to ask “How do I play?” It is a question I hear quite often from adults. The fact that we ask How is a statement of how difficult play has become for so many of us. It is a sign we have lost touch with […]

From Work to Play

“As more humans awaken, the word work is going to disappear from our vocabulary, and perhaps a new word will be created to replace it.” ~ Eckhart Tolle, from The Power of Now When you identify yourself as a human doing, life becomes work. When you identify yourself as a human being, life becomes play. For us to feel truly fulfilled in our careers, and life as a whole, we need to express who we are at an authentic level into whatever it is we do. Society recognizes and rewards performance before well-being – ie, how well or how much one does versus how one feels in whatever it is they are doing. Performance appraisals and our school system are good examples of this. When […]
